Default Armor coating

We all have the same problem on the front of the S. Rocks and other debris that hits the front bumper. I went out for some estimates to paint my front bumper today and the local Honda dealer has a product he suggest, Armor Coat.

Here is the website:

http://armorcoatusa.com/

He said it cost $600. to do the entire car or $200. to do the front bumper. If it works as advertised, it may be something many of us would be interested in.

My reaction is ALWAYS the same. If it worked as described every OEM auto manufacturer would use it.

^The way OEM's cut corner's, you are lucky to have a steering wheel, let alone a $600. coat of protectant sealer.

I like the idea of a clear bra better than a spray on clear bra. I'd rather be able to peal off the clear bra if it gets damaged and put on a new one. I think socals (Tom) has a story about doing just that with his car or his friend's car. I paid to have Venture Shield clear bra put on my NSX. I'm happy with it.

Glenn,

Not to rain on your parade but I am leary of paint protectors like this. Remember how many cars had protective coating put on back in the 80's that peeled over time? I do realize that lots have changed over the last score and a half but I am still a bit "gun shy".

The original owner of my NSX had a 3-M clear bra installed when new. It has been on there for 5 years and so far, no chips or incidental damage is apparent. I like the clear bra much better than Patty's new "This is Not a Bra" (in the Odds & Ends Pictures thread)

^In other words, you prefer clear bras to black bras. You male, you.

After my last attempt at poor humor (or a poor attempt at humor, depending on one's point of view) regarding Kyras I am going to refrain from commenting.

Probably a good idea even though I forgot what it was.
