Our local MG club turns 50 this year. So they were looking for a design. They will vote where to use it - patch, shirts, grill badge, etc. This was what I submitted first. Feedback was it had to have an MGA somewhere. My logic was people already in the MG community would know what it referenced; others wouldn't and wouldn't care.

So anyways, that in turn lead me to submit this one. The hood vent that is on all of the MGA models. Clearly it was mostly done by hand since I don't have a fancy program to use.
Annual business meeting is on the 28th, will have to wait and see what the competition is.

This is my latest artwork which is nearing completion. The dawn of two legends - Fangio and the Maserati 250F.

Full Disclosure - no way, in my best day, could I ever paint the treads on the tires which are a focal point. Thank you tracing paper. I love the shot from 1954 of the two legends.

Following its creation in 1950, the World Championship for drivers saw an intense battle between Alfa Romeo, Talbot Lago and Ferrari. Maserati enticed Ferrari's chief designer who did the chassis, suspension and transmission of a new car . The Maserati 250F was born.

The 250F was first raced at the 1954 Argentinian Grand Prix, where Juan Manuel Fangio won the first of his two victories before he left for the new Mercedes-Benz team.

Stirling Moss had this to say about the 250F, "In my opinion, the greatest racing car ever is the Maserati 250F. It is completely user friendly and forgiving and I really enjoyed racing the Maserati, first as a privateer and then as a semi-works driver".

1957 turned out to be the last hurrah for Maserati as the company was drowning under a sea of red ink.

Tracing paper! I've used it to make copies of my stained glass designs. I think about making my next one... Tracing paper wouldn't work as well with watercolors since they are see through. I'm itching to play with watercolors again and it's like starting over but I love them. Not having a man in my life gives me free time to get creative, again. I realized I don't have any Arches watercolor paper after searching for it in CA so I looked online and found what I think is a good place to buy it. Dave, do you have ago to for your supplies?

This is the company I found that seems to have good prices but I haven't ordered the item I want yet. JERRY'S ARTARAMA

Patricia, it's rare for me to order any supplies online. You may appreciate this. For illustrations I like Designers Gouache, which I have maybe 10 tubes. They use to be about $6 for a very tiny tube and now they are near $10. I recently went to Hobby Lobby and picked up a beginner's set with at least 24 tubes for a total of $10!! WTF. I had to try them. That's what I used on the painting I just did. If they all dry up tomorrow; so what. I'm a feel/touch buyer so I generally go to a local store for most things - brushes, etc. Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Blick was a place online where I use to buy some Golden acrylic paints that people rave over. Personally, I think 90% is BS unless you are a professional. Student grade paints in large tubes are great. Things like tracing paper ... any brand works.

Thank you for your response. My first watercolor teacher in 1987 encouraged us to buy one good sable paintbrush, Newton and Windsor professional watercolors and Arches watercolor paper. It's hard for me to go to the student grade products after starting off with the great stuff.

^3-25-2026. The colors on these clouds really made me want to play with watercolors. I was just leaving to do a short ElliptiGO ride and was highly impressed with this sky. Watercolors are excellent for clouds

I have lots of high end paints and brushes. The designers gouache I mentioned are winsor newton. I never painted enough watercolors to get any good at it. Seems like you have to paint everything backwards.

All I needed was Arches watercolor paper but I threw in a five tubes of Winsor Newton watercolor paint and four new brushes. The brushes are synthetic and inexpensive but supposed to be good for watercolors.

This is a melt glass class my daughter and I are going to on Sunday. I've been there once before and enjoyed it.
