Aw, $hit!
Some of you know my woes with the NSX, but here it is for all.
I took it to the Tomcatt, and 4 of us proceeded to S2K Days in Cumberland Falls, KY, enjoying some neat roads en-route.
Wellll, on the first drive in Kentucky, as we were leaving the parking lot of the hotel, I rear-ended an S that was ahead of me. He had pulled forward at the stop sign, and I, thinking that he was pulling out, while looking to my left for traffic, hit his bumper, since he had stopped for traffic.
Thankfully, he was very understanding about the incident, and we were able to continue on the drive. The left front of my NSX incurred the majority of the damage, while the right rear of his S was impacted.
Fast forward to this week. The insurance adjuster has visited both of us, and his damage is estimated at $1,800, while mine is around $2,500. The adjuster gave me a detailed list of the parts that need to be replaced (I have a body shop guy who does excellent work on the side, so I will be having him do the work), so I ordered them on-line. They showed up Tuesday afternoon, and as I was inspecting them, I found that there was major damage to the replacement grill.
I then contacted UPS, who immediately picked up the damaged part.
So, that's where it stands. Waiting for the UPS resolution. It sure could have been worse.
BTW, S2K Days was great. We visited two bourbon distilleries, tasted some outstanding booze, and had dinner at the original Colonel Sanders KFC restaurant in Corbin, KY.
Next year's meet will be held in S1997's area, Durango, Colorado. I surely hope to see some of you there!

Gene.....
This whole episode just sux!
I know Jason has the estimate for his car... hopefully that rear quarter panel doesn't need to be replace!
Was the replacement grill damage caused in shipping?
I'm sure you want to put this whole thing behind you!!!!

The grill damage was definitely caused in shipping. Now the wait for UPS and the supplier to resolve this. In the meantime, my scheduled repair is delayed for at least 2 weeks.
Gene,
I was about to send you an E-mail today regarding this, to see how it turned out.
FWIIW: I was directly behind Gene, when this occurred, and pulling out of the lodge was on an up hill off chamber drive way. Being the second car behind Jason, Gene did not have a good line of sight compared to the elevated point of view that Jason had. As in other meets we were all pulling out of the drive way in a line without a car blocking on coming traffic (which maybe should have been done) There was some on coming traffic that Jason had no option but to yield too. As I was behind Gene, I had a better vantage point than he did (because of the elevation differential). The sound of the collision sounded a lot worse than it actually was, thankfully.
I agree with Gene, that Jason was really cool with how he handled it. Some other people, could have been a real **** **** (fill in your own answer) about it.
P.S. FWIIW, I for one was disappointed that the group leaders did not seem to care about keeping their drive groups together (when compared to my experiences in S2Ki drive groups). We were often on our own without a route chart (I.E. as in going to the train ride).
