Default back to the 1980's

got an electro-ad this am from micro-center (great computer big box if there is one near U).

hard to imagine that you can get a COMPUTER for 100 bucks!

Yeah, yeah....it's lacking a lot of stuff (like a monitor ) but why wouldn't it work for someone who only does basic email and a little surfing ????

do YOU have a story on something that's so cheap that it's hard to believe?

gas.

It amazes me that we are paying about the same price for gas as we did 30 years ago, adjusted for inflation. Weren't we supposed to be running out of oil by now?

You're killing me.

I'm sorry Jerry, but that was opening big enough to drive a truck through.

Hmmmm, what is the REAL cost of oil. Here is the Google Search on it. If you look at many of these articles you will find that they are posted by, liberal, conservative and many green organizations. But they seem to include everyone except the oil companies. The price of gas in REAL dollars is, I have heard, anywhere from $400 to $600/barrel.

You can decide.

OK, now on to the question...what about air fare?

I remember back in the 1980's if we paid $200-250.00 to fly to FL, we thought that was a good deal. IF you fly at the right time, carry your own bags, and bring your own food, I'd guess someone from MA could still fly to FL for that price.

Run for cover Lainey. He'll get back to this thread eventually, and when he does, there'll be hell to pay.
