Default Back from Nova Scotia

Well, we are back safe and sound (thankfully) from our trip to Nova Scotia. What a great vacation. We had great weather for most of our trip, except for some rain while traveling in both directions.

The scenery was spectacular, the people pleasant, the accommodations were just fine every where we went.

We may have been a bit too ambitious with our schedule and could have used more time in certain areas, but we have no complaints.

We had no cell phone service for about five days which was great. It was quiet, peaceful and exactly what we had hoped for. It was a great trip to celebrate our 25th anniversary.

Here are a few of the things we saw along the way. It's late, so I won't put in detail. Hope to have some time to spend with the pics tomorrow afternoon and not post repeats.

First one is for Val!

That was at the fort in Louisbourg, Bill.

Great pics. Anxious to see some more. When you have time, please comment on distances/reasonable driving progress, highlights, cost and availability of food and lodging, and helpful hints. Canadians are the best.

John, I hope to have a lot more pics up later tonight and will post where they were.

We spent a fair amount, but overall, I did not find hotels unreasonable, it depends what you want. We wanted to be on the ocean and paid for that for three of the nights. Another Victorian inn in Baddeck was $139.00 Canadian and it was LOVELY. Meals were not unreasonable, beer in the liquor store was $20.00 for a 12 pack. Gas is more costly of course, and the prices in the grocery store are steep as well.

We stopped often to take pics, walk around or whatever and all our arrival times at the next destination were later than we planned. I'd cut out the side trip to Sydney and the fort at Louisbourg unless someone is a real history buff.

Back later, household duties call.

^^ Thanks. I tend to get overly ambitious with destinations on trips. Finding places to stay becomes a concern. Sounds like a great trip.

Glad you had a good vacation Lainey! Love the long winding road along the coast - that is what I remember most about NS from my trip. Would love to go again someday when I had more time to spend.
