I remember when this was reserved for winning the pennant or World Series. Now, I guess you can do it for clinching the a spot in a 1 game Wildcard game for the right to play a best of 5 to then play a best of 7, then the World Series.

I too am amazed that the playoffs are first starting now. My son and I were talking yesterday about how the season is just too long. Was it cold at the game?

The length doesn't bother me because I really don't do baseball - but YES, it is. Weather delays at the start of the season and in the playoffs? I do remember as a kid that the World Series could potentially end on my birthday (16th). Now, it's not even close.
Flirted with 60 all day yesterday. Brief bit of rain in the 9th. No sun at all, 100% cloud cover all day.

Dodgers are coming off 3 game sweep by SF, plus losing 2 out of 3 to the Padres. Offense looks real tired. Hope they get some rest and recuperation. Make a good showing against your Nats.
