Greetings from Phoenix where Spring Training is in full swing! At our hotel this AM some of the Oakland A’s were getting off the elevator. And the Pepperdine baseball team is here, I assume for a game with AZ State. Airport was crazy busy yesterday.

With the latest MLB cheating scandal by the Houston Astros, should their 2017 World Series Championship be stripped from them or should they voluntarily give up the title? And should Carlos Beltran et al be permanently barred from the Hall of Fame?

 

If Pete Rose remained banned then Beltran should be banned!

 

Yes and yes.

 

 

We are staying at Delta Hotels Mesa which is a Marriott brand. It is not the high rent district like Scottsdale but the hotel is very nice. I chose it for convenience to my family members’ homes and to the airport. Good choice. And we can see the lights at the A’s training facility from the hotel.

 

I still think that Shoeless Joe Jackson and Pete Rose should both be reinstated and both put into the Hall of Fame. Both were great. Hall of Fame, quality players. I also think the fact that Gil Hodges, the only "Boys of Summer" player not in the Hall, should be inducted immediately.
