Met a friend tonight for drinks and snacks at the British Beer Company in Westford. Had Stella for the first time and enjoyed that. Had a brew from Portland Me from Allagash Brewing Co.- Allagash White. Liked that too.

Ah Jim, you bring back memories of my youth.
We used to pop into the Wursthaus in Harvard Sq. for a Berliner Weiße but with blueberry.
If I recall correctly I was still well underage but always got served.

and Mike,
you got to get some of the Sam Adams Ocktoberfest, It can be argued, that it is, their best beer.

Yesterday, I went out to the Nashoba Valley Vineyard for a little lunch at J's. Sat outdoors on the patio and had a delightful lunch with a wine pairing. I did this last summer and I will do this again next year if I can. So instead of going into the vineyard store for a wine tasting as I did last year, I did the beer tasting. Very nice. I purchased a mixed six pack. I don't usually care for a stout beer, but I enjoyed theirs. Very smooth with a chocolate flavor. Anything that tastes like chocolate works for me.

Jerry, have you been there? I can't imagine that you and Barbara haven't visited this vineyard.

Got a link to this place, Connie? Rick likes beer, especially stout. Could be a little outing for us at some point.

I think you folks would enjoy it. I'm sure there are some nice little roads around Bolton. Since you've seen their site, you know they do tours and you can pick your own fruit (peaches for now).

J's is pretty good ( of course it's not like we have restaurants on every corner).
The scenery etc. is part of the reason i love living here.
we've eaten there a few times. they do wine tasting there fairly frequently and we've gone to a few.
I don't tend to drink a real lot so it's sort of a self limiting function.

did you see any of the bike "gangs" go buy?
it's not unusual to see packs of 30-50 peddlers on summer weekends.

Thanks, Connie. Food appears a bit gourmet for us, but we'll keep it in mind for a road trip at some point.

Didn't see any cyclists. Maybe it was because it was a weekday or just missed them. Lainey, live a little. Try a little gourmet repast. The menu may look exotic but when you get right down to it, it's just good food. The presentation is wonderful, the service is great and the scenery and ambiance makes it worth the drive (not a long one for me). In the end, it's whatever floats your boat.

I'm just not a foodie Connie. Gourmet doesn't do it for me. Maybe we'll take a ride at some point, and check it out. The beer will tempt Rick. However I seem to find other places to spend money than on gourmet food. Today I took the granddaughter to have her hair washed, blow dried and she had a feather extension put in. Doesn't look worth the $ I spent, but she's happy and she's been wanting it allllllllllllll summer. All summer can seem like forever when you are 10.
