Default Boxing

When I was growing up there was only one person in our entire city block that had a TV. I remember going to their house and watching the Friday night fights. It was a big deal then. Over the years I got to a point where I had zero interest in boxing and thought it was a really dumb and crooked sport, if you can call it that. I probably haven't seen a fight in over twenty or thirty years. There was one on tonight on one of the major networks that I found when channel flipping. Ended up watching the full 11 rounds. While it did bring back memories of a lad of maybe 10 or whatever age I was, I still think it's something that's out lived it's time. What do you think?

Probably the only fight I would pay to watch would be Rhonda Rousey against Floyd Mayweather.
I'd love to see how he'd do against a woman who can hit back.

Gillette Cavalcade of Sports. Watched Floyd Patterson, Jersey Joe Walcott, Sugar Ray Robinson with my Dad and Grandfather on black & white Philco TV. Loved it.

We definitely watched the same fights! The Gillette ad songs still bang in my head.

I use to watch it quite a bit. Not so much in the past 30 years. I would not support any move to ban it. I people want to fight and others want to watch, so be it.
