Ahem. It's Gaidhlig, or Scottish Gaelic if you prefer. Scotch is a type of whiskey made in Scotland.

As we say down here in the south: smarty-pants. [I stand corrected and humbly defer to your superior knowledge of this subject]

Oh, people use "smarty pants" here, too.

In fact, at work, someone called me "smarty pants" just yesterday. She actually meant it as a compliment, though, as I work in a chemistry lab.

She asked me if I was a "smarty pants" since I worked in the lab. I said I didn't know about that. I said, though, that I had been called "smarty pants," before and it was not meant in such a complimentary way.

That would be tapaidh drathais in Gaidhlig. Or it may be total gibberish, as I know only a little more about Gaelic than I do about Scotch - which is next to nothing.
I wish I had taken the time to learn it when I was younger and my brain was more pliable. It doesn't seem to be as open to learning new languages or new skills like it once was.

I don't know much about scotch either. I prefer bourbon or just good ole Tennessee whisky (black Jack ranking near the top).

It's funny...I always pick up the accent of wherever I am for any length of time. I had a real suthin one when I went to college in NC. Not sure what it is now, since the DC area has all kinds! Some peeps think I'm suthin, some British (doesn't sound British to me). Always get asked where I'm from, since I suppose my accent is hard to pin down. I lived all over growing up. Anyhoo, most peeps I'm around keep the accent from where they were raised. The +1 has a Joisey accent still, even though he hasn't lived in the old neighborhood since he was 15! I pretty much say "hey" instead of "hi." Hey Y'all!

I don't drink any of them. I can't afford the luxury of killing any of my brain cells deliberately. I'll stick with my Moxie.
