Funny in a coincidental way to see this topic as I have recently started to catch up on reading my magazines which have stacked up. Most of my favorites have changed or gone over time I enjoyed Car and Driver back in the days of David E. Davis, John Philips, Brock Yates etc. but that format changed over time and Road and Track I enjoyed especially for side glances but that has changed and the last was my favorite which was Hemmings Sports and Exotic which I loved and I still have a few issues left that I haven't read.
For current magazines I get the Hagerty magazine through my insurance policy and I enjoy that it has a lot of great content and Dave if you are getting an insurance policy with Hagerty the magazine should come with it. I also get Hemmings Muscle Machines which is alright I prefer content with sports and exotics more and I also get Hot Rod magazine which again is alright I enjoy the editorial columns. I occasionally pick up 'the bible' which is the original Hemmings Motor News with classifieds and some editorial content and I get a subscription for my Dad of Hemmings Classic Cars which he enjoys and I leaf through them when he is done. I suppose it is inevitable but I hope the day doesn't come soon where we can't sit down and HOLD AND READ a car magazine.

Robb, the Hagerty magazine is offered as a side benefit when you join Hagerty's drivers club. It is a separate line item. I do not use any of the other benefits as I do not go to their cars and coffee, do not buy discounted serice or parts through them, do not call them with car questions, I don't follow the car market trends, or any of the other so-called benefits. That's what got me wondering if paying $45 for magazine was worth it.

I have been getting the Hagerty magazine since I got my insurance there and did not add anything on for it ... am I supposed to be paying for it ?

Other than that one, I read Sport Car magazine (SCCA) and Grassroots Motorosports

Ah yes that is right. They have had some good freebies but if you don't use them then what's the point in joining. If I remember correctly I ended up with it because I wanted the roadside assistance.
Maybe check with some of your friends in your MG club they may already get it and will be willing to pass it on to you.

Check your bill and see if there is a 45 dollar charge on it for the drivers club.

Dave, I am getting daily emails from Hagerty now that I am a customer. They seem to be sort of an e-magazine with a new topic each day along with links to previous features and some regular columns. I think you get the same emails, based on some of the things you have posted. How much of the hard copy magazine am I missing?

I *think* I saw where Car and Driver and Road & Track are now selling both issues together for the price of one.

First let me say to all, you do not have to have their insurance to get their magazine. Here's a link that gives an overview of it.

Mike, I get the same almost daily emails too. Some of them are duplications of what's in the magazine and many are not. Mike, to be honest that's hard for me to answer; perhaps Bill can answer better as I take a long, long time getting through that magazine. I am currently only 50% through the Nov/Dec issue and the Jan/Feb issue has not been touched.

I was an avid Car & Driver fan for 30 years until they changed their format some years back. Can't stand it now.
