Default Car research

There's a very real possibility that enough range of motion isn't going to be restored in my knee to allow me to drive the S2000 again. In all likelihood, even if I do get adequate ROM, the S will be too uncomfortable to get in or out.
So, I'm considering another car that will be easier for me to use. I want a two-seater, but I don't care if it's a convertible or not. And I haven't quite decided yet, but I'm leaning (if you'll pardon the pun) toward an automatic rather than a standard. I know that's considered sacrilege, but things just ain't what they used to be.

Some of the cars that are on my list of potential candidates to investigate:
Nissan 370Z
MB SLK350
Corvette
Mustang Cobra

I know Maury has an SLK350 and his happy with it. Hopefully, he'll comment on the car's ease of access.
Can anyone comment on the others. And what other cars within this price range should I add to my list for consideration?

^I agree the G37 convertible is very nice, especially in Athens Blue. I was invited to a local dealer last week to see it and other than the $50K price tag, I really did like it.

The 370Z convertible can be ordered with a 7 speed auto which would work and the car is around 40K I believe depending on the model.

Very nice car.
At $50K, that's a lot more than I want to pay for a daily driver. I want to keep the price in line with what a new S would cost me.
I might even consider a used car if it was something I really liked and the price was right.

So, the model number is up to 370 now. That shows how far out of the loop I am.

Is the hardtop version also available with an AT?

Stay away from the Vette! I sold an 08 Coupe this spring before buying my 06 S, weired thing is that my insurance was only half as much on the Vette other then that, the Vette is over rated and 90% of the owners are A-holes, most think they are special because of owning a POS vette.
