I like the Cayman and Boxster better than the 911. Less money and almost as capable. If I could choose it would be the Boxster as I like verts. I detail lots of Porsches and the Cayman is a very capable and fun car to drive.

I liked the earlier body better than the last two iterations. I like the six better than the four. I guess I'm a good candidate for a used one.

Bill, me too! The body style, especially the roof line, of the original spoke to a time that I identified with totally; what's what captured my interest initially. I've always been a rag top guy but that was a tin top I really loved! I still 'kinda' regret I didn't buy one of the first two or three year models early on when the money pocket types bought one for a year or so and low mileage cars were going for great prices - - I know because I was checking all over the US after my 100 mile test drive . . . imagine that, it's been 11 years. One would be in my garage if only it did not hurt my wife's back (same reason I sold the S) on our test. We do what's best for the people we love. Thankfully, no issues with a 59 year old MG.

I own one of the earlier cars and I love it. The flat 6 in that car sounds amazing (mine has a borderline obnoxious exhaust), the handling feel is superb, and it has more than enough power for street use. I prefer the curvier older style in the earlier cars, but I do prefer the more aggressive side scoops in the later models. In my perfect world, they'd have combined the two and stayed with the flat 6.

What year is your car Eric? I like the original body, but I'd like the larger 330 hp engine.

If looks count, it is a very pretty car.

Mine is a 2006 Cayman S. To satisfy my desire for more power, I installed a SharkWerks RS370 kit. I can only find a link to their RS350 kits right now, but they also offered a step up version that supposedly delivered 370 crank hp at one point. The 370 kit required headers and maybe something else. I have no idea how much power my car actually makes versus the make-believe marketing number, but it's definitely more powerful than it was when stock.
