My parents were snowbirds for quite some time before permanently settling just inland from Sanibel. My sister lives in Ft Myers and my brother lives in LaBelle. I for one like FL for a visit but I'm not sure I could live there...well maybe out on the Keys...but maybe not.

My wife's best friend has a second home in Ormond Beach, which is just north of Daytona. That area would be my choice if I were to ever decide to snowbird in Florida, but I'm like Scoots...not for me!
Here are a few homes in her development: https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...rmond-Beach_FL

4 weeks would be my max in FL. My wife was bored in Clearwater in less than a week. We had a free beautiful condo on about the 5th floor with the Gulf and beach across the street, a deck both front and back, with backside looking at the lake. She's a barn girl, not a beach girl..... me I love the beach and oceans. But could never take the high humidity times of the year.

We've been to Sanibel a few times and enjoyed it, last year's red tide event permanently scarred us though, it was horrible, I never want to take a chance on that ever again.

Many years we would visit Orlando hitting up the theme parks with our son, and it was brutally humid there. But as soon as we crossed the bridge into Daytona beach shores the humidity and bugs seemed to disappear with the constant on-shore breeze they always get there, it was a world of difference from the west coast and inland Florida. .
