Default The Cursed Platoon

I got this from a friend in the MG community that I have personally known for 48 years. If Jim wants to move it to politics, I am ok with that. If he wants to leave it here as just a very very sad news story I am good with that as well.

From John Twist: Many of you are aware that I lost my youngest child, James, 27, married with three kids, combat veteran from Afghanistan, member of the Army Reserve, and a Michigan State Policeman, to suicide last October. His death was the fourth from his small platoon of a couple dozen guys after their return from deployment. This past weekend The Washington Post ran a massive article about that unit. If you would care to watch or read it, follow the links below. If you are not a Washington Post subscriber, then just Google "The Cursed Platoon" and there will be other media which post the same article.

Too sad and way too unfair.

Very sad. All these victims of the US complicated involvement in the Middle East. Sorry, to hear about your son.

Neither I or my cousins John and Tony saw any incompetence in field leadership in Viet Nam. We were all Marines. However, my cousin Joey, who rose to Lt. Col. in the Corps after four tours there did tell us some horror stories about some junior officers. But that's not the point of the story. The point is that lies and actions of our great sociopath unfairly harmed citizen warriors of good heart and good honor. I just cannot believe the state of my country today. Honor does not hold value any more.
