There will be an app for that, just like a QR reader!

I was very pleased to learn my youngest grandkids, 11 and 13, can read and write cursive.

Prefer blue black. Easy to get supplies in Europe.

Some kids today ask how "we" managed to live in an era without the internet. Libraries, reference books, phone calls, mail, and making appointments are beyond comprehension for many. They can't imagine how you would meet someone without the ability to text. The fact my wife and I had to wait 2 weeks for a handwritten letter to make it from military deployment (ships, in the 80s) back home is positively stone age.

Cracks me up. They wonder what would happen if the internet "really" went down. I tell them to live how we did before. Impossible.

I can't help but feel we are transitioning to a society where the ability, if not the desire, to live privately is gone. Everything is tracked electronically.

Two things are coming to put the final nails in the coffin of anonymity: The elimination of cash and the "chipping" of humans for ID / transaction purposes.
Ditto on the fountain pen and the "blue black". There's a guy who still sells the Schaefer plastic blue/black cartridges online. I used the blue black so that I could differentiate originals with my signature against photocopies. With color copiers, that is no longer a great aid.

Ditto on the privacy thoughts, too.
