The stock NSX wheel is quite large and very thin. In the photo above we completely rebuilt the wheel with a new base foam core that is not only thicker but has much more aggressive grips for easy turning. It's almost a no brainer in terms of what you gain and nothing lost. The horns are a bit odd on the NSX but nothing you can't get used to. On the Huracan for example the turn signals are on the steering wheel similar to how most motorcycles operate. Took a bit to get used to but it's almost intuitive now and wonder how you can go back to hitting a stalk

Here's a NSX with one of our custom s2000 steering wheels featuring Sport thicker grip, flat bottom, Carbon and Alcantara - looks amazing! It's a real tossup between our upgraded NSX wheel or an s2000 upgraded wheel, take your pick!

Thank you! I'll look into it. I have an S2000 and an NSX. Love them both.

We think we remember your NSX - is it the LBP color?

Yes. 2005 NSX in Long Beach Blue Pearl and 2007 S2000 Laguna Blue. Where did we meet?

^We met at NSXPO 2015 in Palm Springs pretty sure. We were there with family and my parents too! Plus we were one of the NSXPO sponsors raffling off some NSX goodies!

Hope to see you again sometime soon perhaps at the next NSXPO in Wisconsin later this year

That was what I thought. Palm Springs.

I was on an all day drive yesterday in So Cal. We had four total NSXs with some S2000s and other cars. Excellent drive and stops: Borrego Springs, Julian Pie Co. I won't be going to Wisconsin. I like closer meets for my NSX. It turned to 36,000 miles yesterday.

Agent Dale Cooper: Diane, if you ever get up this way, that cherry pie is worth a stop.

I had a flat bottom steering wheel for most of last year but, unlike others who have posted, I could not grow accustomed to it. On hairpin and very tight turns finding a grip distracted me from the watching ahead on the track. Over this winter, I switched back to a round wheel.

Thanks for the feedback Harry. Since us normal people don't drive F1 cars on F1 tracks that, I am sure would be my guess/feelings/reaction as well.

I admit I didn't try any car with a clearly noticeable D-shaped steering wheel but for a road car with a steering ratio which is not very short (a car in which you frequently need to move your hands from the 9 - 3 position) I don't think it's a good idea, even extremely pronounced thumb spots can be a hindrance for smooth and effective handling when you are driving fast on twisty roads with tight corners. Yes they may look cool but functionality is first, especially in such a critical item as your steering. Not gonna compromise my steering precision for coolness.
