Dark Side of the Internet
Farmville, Va, home of Longwood College, is just 45 miles from my area. Apparently these teens met on MySpace, went to horrorcore concerts and then one of the teens flew to Farmville from California, killed his myspace girlfriend, her friend and both her parents. The girl's mom was a Longwood professor and her dad a minister. Sad. I guess this is why my daughter freaks out everytime I go to a meet with my "internet buddies." Suspect in 4 kills arrested

The incident that Val is talking about was quite insane to me! The parents of the girl let her go to these concerts and the organizer/performer of the concert had met all three teens involved! What parent does THAT! It is certainly a sad situation and the loss of good people but come on! Parents HAVE to be involve with their children ..... TALK to them, at least!

The article does not really explain any of the things Val and Barb are talking about. If the killer is in California and the girl and family in Virginia, how did they go to concerts together? What does meeting the concert promoter have to do with anything? What is horrorcore? What did the parents do wrong?

Sorry, Bill, you are right some details have been left out.
The teens met on My Space. They attended a concert together that promotes death and acts of killing people. The promoter had met the teens at a concert but said the concerts did not cause people to romanticize death and murder. The teen murderer (from CA) flew to Virginia to visit the two girl friends and killed them and their parents.
