Default Daylight Savings Time to Cause Glitches?

As you know, Daylight Savings Time's change is occurring earlier and lasting longer beginning on March 11. If you don't have auto-updates turned on, you may need to install a patch so that your computer will operate properly:

Wake up to DST "bug"

I wish they would have done this years ago. I love coming home in the daylight. If it were up to me, daylight savings time would last all year.

I think that very much like the Y2K issues, the DST bug has been overplayed and will work itself out. I know that Microsoft has made patches available, and I imagine most everyone else is going to be able to adjust without any problem.

No big deal for most; MS has sent out the patch automatically for those who get the updates.

You can do this manually.
Go to control panel.
Click on Date and Time.
Click on time zone.
Uncheck box that says adjust clock automatically.

When the change occurs, left click the time at the bottom right of the screen and set the correct time.

Our office is on top of this, so I don't anticipate any problems there. At home, I need to check.

I just realized that you can shortcut my previous.

Simply double click the time at the bottom right of the screen and that takes you to the date and time page. No need to go thru the control panel.

Now, what will you do with all that time you just saved?

Well, I just posted a long, somewhat thoughtful item on Jim's 'Money/ Religion' thread Take a look and tell me what you think
