How very, very difficult it is to keep the accelerator pedal on the cabin side of the firewall?
Nice and cool for the drive in to work - the car wants to go go but there's traffic in the way - make the turn onto 20th - three lanes - only two cars - move to the far right in 2nd and hit the first beep at 8K and 4 lbs of boost - shift to third and hear the air bleed off - then 4th and 5th as there's no one in front now - catch all the greens through downtown but back it off to 35 or so - then catch all greens again when the road opens up to four lanes again with a concrete divider in the middle - it's shift change time for the Chattanooga PD - let her rip in the right lane until we pass the big bump in the left lane on Riverside Drive then move to the left lane just ahead of the onramp from 3rd street - still clear so shift from 5th to 6th and pass some more cars in the right lane through the next two right and left handers - time to whoa now and move into the left turn lane - check the mirrors and oncoming traffic - move over at the light - wait for one to pass - make the left into the parking lot and slow down for the 1st speed hump - bump bump - then the 2nd - bump bump - now move to the far outside of the lot and nail 2nd one more time before shifting to 3rd - now slowing and pulling the ebrake up one click - raising the top - stopped now and raising the windows almost to the top - out of the car now and hitting the lock lock - beep - opening the trunk to get out my stuff - closing the trunk and heading towards the building a bit reluctantly - one more look back as I mutter to myself "Damn I love this car."
Thanks for sharing your drive Mike. I know I always feel better after I have taken the car out for a spin. I usually take a ride out some curvy roads in the evening, after it has cooled off, it's great!
Drove the Liberty. Not too exciting, but I did hit a milestone. Legal Bill was telling me I had 65K on my Jeep for decades....My commute is not very long....After 7 years with the car I hit 66 K today.
Planned to take a spin to Millsboro where they have a cruise night and classic car show every Tuesday at the Dairy Queen and somewhere in town but weather was threatening so we didn't go. Plan to go next week. Just detailed the S so I wanted to show her off a little. Nice cars and nice down home folks who accept all makes of cars regardless of who made em.
