Braved 'old people' Tuesday, and saw this yesterday. Count me as one of the people who didn't like it. Wife raved about the book, and said most of it translated well to the screen. A bit too cartoonish and predictable for me. See it and make your own decision!

 

I did the same and went last night for the 7:15 pm showing that started at 7:30 and ran until 10:00 PM.

I liked it but I didn't love it. It was slow going for me. I wouldn't want to sit through it twice. It was fun to hear the audience laugh together. I had a woman on my left who was doing her best not to let loose with all out bawling. I wasn't even close to tears.

 

The only time I was close to crying is when my popcorn ran out and there was still a lot of movie left.

 

Patty I was trying to figure this out. If it was an 8:15 showing why did it start at 7:30?

 

Fixed it. Typo. It was a 7:15 pm showing that started at 7:30 pm. I hate sitting through the BS advertisements and never show up early since I can choose my seat when I pay online. Most of the time the movie previews bother me with the violence. I don't go to those movies.
