I'm not aware of any issues. At its worst the whole process is generally done within 20 minutes and it only takes that long waiting for the water to boil. The advice was given to me personally from a well respected plumber who said Drano was one of the worst things you could use.

BTW, I've put boiling water down every drain - if I do one, I do them all - every sink, tub, and shower.

PVC has a melting point of around 400º F. Boiling water dumped into a trap that already has water in it shouldn't cause any harm.

Giving the dog a shower! She has such a hard time when we take her to the 'dog wash' it takes two of us to get her into their sink.

And you thought it was my hair - I wish. I'm already down to the point where I can count them.

I peed in rest stop pit toilet in Utah on Friday. Eww. But at least the toilet was there and the view was fine when I went back to my car.
