Default Dreams?

So what can you say about your dreams? Do you remember them when you wake up, or do you remember them at weird times during the day?

For me I have voted - I know I dream, I recall only very strange disjointed fragments of them, and in my case I remember the strange disjointed fragments throughout my day, not when I wake up in the morning. The remembering is weird because I first wonder when did I do that, and then I realize, wow, that was a weird dream.

This all came to my mind because this morning the following happened to me.

So I'm driving to work this morning on wet roads in the Titan that has nearly bald rear tires. I go to pull away from a signal light and even with a little throttle I can feel the tires slipping and see the SLIP light come on. And then it hit me, I had a dream last night about driving the truck. All I remember was driving in the rain and stopping on a hill. As I'm sitting stopped on the hill the truck starts to roll back, after jumping on the brake I realize, the truck is not ROLLING back, it is SLIDING back. The tires are so bald the truck cannot grip the road in the rain. Well as the truck slides backwards down this hill I panic, and that is all I remember about the dream.

Moral of the story?
I guess my subconscience wants me to buy new tires.

Oh, have your dreams changed somehow as you have gotten older?

Doug, I rarely remember dreams unless I wake up in the middle of one. Sometimes, though, it's like you say, where I'm doing something and in pops a link to a dream I had.

Good question Doug

I voted same as you... I usually only remember bits and pieces. I do remember often in dreams interacting with people I *KNOW* in the dream but when I wake up I wonder, who the hell was that???!

On a side note, when I have indigestion I have VERY weird dreams, usually not quite nightmare but very unpleasant stuff. Rehashing bad things that have happened to me, or making up similar experiences, or sometimes being chased/in fear, whatever.

Believe it or not, I have NEVER dreamed about S2000s

Dreams are indeed interesting. Off the top of my head I seem to think I dreamed more when I was younger, but I'm not totally sure.

One thing for sure, when i recall bits and pieces of them, they are totally strange and weird...

The ones that stick out in my memory are having some physical attraction with someone I know but would never do a thing with in real life.

Oh, and when I'm hot or taking tylenol with codeine, the dreams get weirder and unpleasant.

Interesting, I'm not so sure I dream about people much. Sitting here trying to recall the most recent remembrances and I'm not coming up with people.

Usually my dreams seem to make perfect sense to me when I wake up. Then somewhere between the edge of the bed and the bathroom door, they fragment into little nonsense bits. By the first sip of coffee, they're usually gone.

I think that just like a song melody you can't get out of your head, sometimes a dream sequence does the same thing and then you have a reoccurring dream or dream theme for awhile.

The memories of dreams are for me very vivid, but are quickly gone after I get up. Often, if I'm working on writing a paper or working on some problem, I will wake up in the middle of the night having dreamed the solution, so I get up and go into my office and make notes, so I don't forget. Sometimes I think I have virtually written whole sections of a research paper in my dreams.
