If you are not looking for track gloves I would recommend some gloves made from deer skin. They are soft and comfortable if you can find some.

I've used driving gloves, especially on long trips, for decades, and over time I've tried all sorts. What I use now are these. (I use scissors to cut off the little flaps on the back with the snaps.)
I started using them when I lived in the mountains out west, and in the winter I'd carry a pair of warm gloves to deal with stuff outside (like windshield scraping). These string-back jobs are the best thing I ever found for driving, year-round. HPH

Grendel,
You want the best? Go here: Alwyn Gloves.
I picked up a pair in 2003 based upon first seeing a picture of a pair owned by ReedZ of Rick's Signature S2000 Accessories. Since I drive a silver and red I got a pair in black with red fourchettes (between the fingers). Alwyn's Pittard's leather is absolutely fantastic for comfort and durability. Mine are now 4 years old and still show no wear despite my usage. They simply are the best driving gloves I've ever owned and are worth their weight in gold for long trips.

Use the "Daywear leather" menu option and then "Mens driving gloves" on their web site. Service from them over the Internet was also top notch.

I like the leather ones with the fingers exposed like the ones I am wearing in this vid.

They give me the grip and fell and I can also manage my camera.

Batquano,
I like those too and had owned some in years past. They were among the designs I was originally looking at in '03 for reasons similar to what you've posted: I wanted dexterity. Amazingly I can pick up dimes, etc. while wearing those Alwyns so they satisfied that criteria for me too. Most all other full finger gloves wouldn't have.

One of the complaints I have about the S is that the steering wheel needs to be more tacky. I mean more gripable.(sp)
On a cool day, I don't have the sense of the steering control because the wheel feels slick.
When I am running the dragon or at track events i use either those gloves or the G force ones.

I hate smooth leather on a steering wheel. I had a Nissan once that I hated so much I actually went over the steering wheel leather lightly with sandpaper.I have a pair of worn out Fownes gloves; I'd give anything to find another pair just like them but searches on the web have been for not. They are actually winter gloves but I've used them for tracking, etc.
I would think it's tough to order gloves over the web. I know when I'm at a store I've tried on dozens - all marked the same size - before finding the "right" pair.
