Default Eagle Therapy

This is a cool video. It's of an eaglet that caught it's foot in some fishing line that was part of the nest. this nest is cammed and lots of people watch it.

Ugly little thing. I guess they're going to put it back shortly. Eagle Therapy

Sadly, someone here shot a bald eagle. They are plentiful here but still, someone is going to jail, and rightfully so.

Also of note: Revelers riding a float in the annual Pas Christian Mardi Gras parade threw beads at a hapless brown pelican, driving the poor creature under another float where it was run over. The good news is over 50 parade-goers stepped forward to identify the offending float. Authorities are investigating. The brown pelican was removed from the endangered species list a few years ago but you still are not allowed to hunt them or harass them. Since everyone riding every float must fill in and sign a waiver, the evil-doers will be caught and punished.

Apparently, Mardi Gras, alcohol, guns (or beads), and redneck-ishness do not mix in the more redneck parts of Harrison County.

Nothing surprises me anymore. Very sad.
