What time, and did it say if we could have felt it here in MA? I was sitting in my car at lunch and the car was moving a bit. I thought to myself, it's not that windy....

Wonder if Patty felt the one in CO today.

Yep I'm not crazy. It was felt in MA today too!
he epicenter was in Virginia.

The quake was felt in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; New York City and on Martha's Vineyard where President Barack Obama is vacationing. Cell phone service has been disrupted in New York City where parts of Manhattan have been evacuated.

"Everybody was told to take the stairs," Wolf Blitzer said, speaking live at 2 p.m. E.T. from CNN's D.C. bureau.

The Pentagon has been evacuated, CNN's Barbara Starr reports. "When the building began shaking rather violently, hundreds of people began streaming out," she said, because many people thought that the building was under attack. Starr was standing in the Pentagon's press office when the roof started to shake.

Twitter traffic suggests the quake was felt all over the east coast.

I'm at a Starbucks getting a coffee on my way to Mt. Evans, and realized they have free wifi. No, I didn't feel an earthquake in the Grand Lake area where I'm staying. I didn't get to my rental until 6PM last night. This is the first I've heard of an earthquake. Don't know where it was centered and that makes a huge difference in whether or not you'll feel it.

Here is a great place to go to see where all types of natural and man-made incidents are happening. They had the quake located within minutes after it happened.

Here's the info, Patty: A moderate 5.3-magnitude earthquake that rattled southern Colorado early Tuesday morning was the largest to hit the state in more than 40 years, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake's epicenter was seven miles southwest of Cokedale, and 180 miles south of Denver. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
