Knowing Denny, why do I get the feeling that he has to keep it refrigerated to keep it from exploding? ....... And if it does some how self ignite it would snuff itself out after being starved for oxygen.

My Mom (May she rest in peace) concocted it every Christmas. Her recipe called for Rum, Bourbon and, oh yes, egg nog. Everyone had a "Merry Christmas".

I needed the "It's OK, I have some on occasion" choice.

Egg nog was a big deal when we were kids. It was served at Christmas and maybe Thanksgiving.

These days, if I drank 4 oz of it, it would be more than enough. Maybe I'd like it better with the rum?

It's almost too rich and I'm not crazy about the thickness of it.

I like it with some nutmeg sprinkled on top. I only drink it at Christmastime and try not to have too much of it since it is so rich.

Egg Nog makes the winter bearable. Liberal use of distilled spirits, plus a little liquid custard. Nutmeg grated on top. YUM YUM.

Love the stuff, straight or spiked

But, I suspect the thought of it on a hot July day would make me want to gag, it really is a holiday kind of treat, and that's holiday as in Christmas & New Years

Or winter equinox or apre-ski or just because it's cold out.
