Default Ever Eaten One of These?

They're called Bourekas. Apparently they're a Kosher Turkish food.

Sure. Sigara Borek in Turkish. Has feta cheese inside. Delicious. I was so missing them until a Turkish restaurant opened nearby. I have no sense of scale on that picture so that may be some other kind of borek. Sigara borek are typically about 3/4" in diameter and about 4" long.

I'm glad for this explanation.

I was thinking it was a deep-fried grub. Yum! HPH

Sigara borek as I described it is filo dough wrapped around feta with a little chopped greenery. It is rolled up, sealed with a little egg, and then deep fried. A regular Mediterranean artery clogger.
Here's a recipe.

Bourekas are very good. When I lived in Turkey we would eat them. The are a street food with variations throughout Mediterranean and middle east. There are different fillings that can be inside.
