Default Exploding Vodka

We had a bottle of Svedka vodka blow up in our liquor cabinet last night. It was a new bottle. 2ltrs of vodka went everywhere. It blew out the base and the top of the bottle. I didn't know vodka was carbonated? I have no clue what happened but it peeled some of the finish off my cabinet.

Anyone ever heard of this happening? [attachment=39644:Exploding Svedka Bottle.JPG]

Nope - but it's probably a good thing you didn't drink any.

That's crazy. Does your cabinet have a light inside it that might have been left on?

I called Svedka. They're sending me a shipping box & label for the old bottle pieces and a check to pay for a new bottle of vodka.

Never heard of such a thing...it'll be interesting to find out what Svedka determines, if anything.

About two years ago I had a Martini glass crack about twenty minutes after I finished the Martini. It just went "POP" and cracked all around the bowl. It looked pretty cool so I place it on a shelf that we have in our four season room. A few days latter it shattered into pieces??

Thanks I found a couple other people who had the same thing happened. I got a check from Svedka Friday along with a mailer envelope to return the bottle in?

I dont't think that's going to work well with the bottom and the top blown off the cylindrical part.
lots of sharp edges and broken glass in an envelope.

I think I'll call them on Monday and see if they want it boxed and peanut packed.
