Default The Fall Drive

The S2000 is an ideal vehicle for the Fall Drive. Top down, a little heat and you're cruising in the environment, all set to enjoy natures greatest show of color. The question is where do you go?

Most years my Fall drive goes to upstate New York, to about Woodstock and back. This year I'm going to do something a little different. This year I'm going west. Western New Jersey is very beautiful (no, New Jersey is not only the turnpike, oil refineries and urban blight). Liz and I are going to head out towards the Delaware Water Gap on the boarder of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Once at the Water Gap we're going to turn south and drive along it, stopping every now and again to watch the flow of the Delaware River. After a few miles we're going to cross over into Pennsylvania and drive along the tree covered roads to admire the colors. Lots of trees, lots of farm land and fall colors at it's best. After a few hours we'll cross back into New Jersey, head north, passing the farms (remember New Jersey is "The Garden State") and horse farms. By dark we should be back home.

That's going to be our fall drive. Where are you going?

I like YOUR , Rob. The Delaware Water Gap is beautiful in almost any season! ***Let us know when you are going, and maybe we can meet up in Milford for lunch at Dimmick's Tavern.****

It's the best restaurant in Milford...located right at the only traffic signal in town....where Rte 206 and 209 intersect IIRC

Rob, I may take my new-to-me S to Colorado. I will be getting the clear bra on it next Tuesday. If the kitten I want doesn't happen, I'm thinking I'll head towards Durango on Thursday, after my fluffing appointments up north that day. My sister is getting her second knee replacement on 9-11, I think, so it's a good excuse to hit the Million Dollar Highway north of Durango, on the long-way to Colorado Springs, to visit her in rehab. It's been ages since I did an S2000 road trip.

Great ideas! I'm heading up the drive to the Rhinebeck Aerodrome in a few weeks through the Duchess county area- always beautiful. After that it's on to Fall Crawl first part of October.

For our fall drive, we are hoping to extend summer. Headed to SC first week of October. I expect as we head home over the Columbus Day weekend, we may catch some fall colors.

That's the plan right now.

I'm thinking we'll cruise down into Georgetown County sometime during the fall to do a little drive-by of several plantations down that way. We want to visit this place: Mepkin Abbey that is in a little town called Moncks Corner.

I learned something new today; a columbarium is where they store remains ashes.
mind you, I don't expect to be working that into a casual sentence anytime soon.
