I remember reading about that somewhere. My reaction was "wtf?" as well after reading interviews with some of these kids explaining why they joined in the mayhem.

And these morons set fire to businesses owned by minorities. One positive act however, the local Payless shoe store was vandalized and every shoe in the store was stolen except for the work shoes.

I'm rarely surprised by the acts of drunken fools.....
I guess that just goes to prove that people will use any excuse to get drunk. Pumpkin festivals?
I protest! I've been a drunken fool many times, but I have never menaced any pumpkins. Haven't brandished any either. Done lots of other less than genius-level stuff though.

And yeah, it's kind of an embarrassment for New Hampshire. Keene, I think it was, just in October (maybe it was Sept). Annual pumpkin festival. Family event like a county fair sort of thing, ya know? Reports are (for however accurate they may be) that students from the local college got drunk as skunks at/near the festival and vandalized and trashed the town. Everyone was like wtf?

To their credit, other students at the college mobilized the next day and showed up with trash bags and clean up gear to help clean up.

To be entirely accurate, it was reported that students visiting from other campuses got rowdy as opposed to the matriculating natives.
It's to bad for many years Keene held the record ( may still hold it) for most lit jack-o-lanterns, something on the order of 30,000+ .
you know, wholesome, gang-oriented fun.

Well now, to be entirely accurate, one would probably have had to have been there. To be entirely accurate it was reported that Keene State College President Anne Huot said Keene State students bore some of the responsibility for the unruly behavior, but also suggested that some outside the community had billed the event "as a destination for destructive and raucous behavior." http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/19/us/new...festival-riot/

Is it true the Keene PD owns a BearCat? Stumbled across this article and thought, wth? Danged dangerous pumpkins all up in da hood dere!

In DC there is probably some kind of protest every day. Some peeps camp out in Lafayette Park across from the White House all year round protesting all kinds of things. The Supreme Court gets its share, too. As for the Ferguson fallout, it did not amount to much here as far as I know. Former Mayor Marion Barry's death overshadowed any other news. He was a character.

Amazing. I thought there would have been a large protest in DC.

I hope I'm wrong but I think what has happened in the aftermath of Ferguson has set back race relations 50 years.

Chris Rock filmed the Public Service Announcement a few years.

Prevents "Ferguson moments."

people who haven't figured out there is only one race.. already still are still back 50... 10,000 years there abouts somewhere...

I feel todays mankind is better then 50, 60 years ago mankind.. and he, I am sad to say, was not so much more advanced 50, 60 years ago then he had been say in 10,000 years, so... we're getting somewhere... there is only 1 ( one ) Race.. we can win it.... and actually become the people we tell ourselves we think we are.. human beings..

na, we're human beings anyways, and thus, destined to f@#keverything up...
