Default Finally replaced the S

Finally bought another car yesterday. I've searched and researched for the past nearly 3 months and decided on the metallic silver Volvo C70 T5 with retractable hardtop. I've only driven it 20 miles (brought it home from the dealership) and really like it. The leather seats are FANTASTIC, the ride is great and the car handles well. It certainly isn't the driving experience of the S, but it performs as well as I'd hoped. I've read mixed reviews about the driving experience, but it is certainly not a run of the mill car. Haven't had the top down yet but I'm looking forward to it. It is quiet with the top up, has a really nice sound system and a lot of features that I like, particularly the BLIS and parking assist. BLIS is a blind spot detector that features a little light that glows when a car is in your blind spot. Love it. The park assist features sensors to indicate when you are within 6 feet of an object to the rear. The climate control seems nice and the car is really very comfortable. The seats fit the body well and will adjust with memory for 3 drivers. I'm iffy on the keyless entry and start system and wouldn't have paid extra just to get that feature. LOVE the 5 yr free maintenance and 5 year warranty. I think I'll never get over losing my S to a stupid accident, but I'm happy with the Volvo. I eliminated the BMW and Mercedes since they just did not offer the same features. Both the Merc and the BMW are uber nice cars, but for the $$, I preferred the Volvo. I particularly liked the size of the car since it DOES offer back seat comfort for 2 people (especially comfy for shot people LOL) yet it is not big and bulky. I'll post pics later. We're in for a rain drenched day today, so the pics will have to wait. Meanwhile, I'm studying the manual. I have a lot to learn!

Great news, Val!!! I know a place you could drive it to for a road test! BTW - I also know you were very upset with the woman who hit you, but do you really mean this - "especially comfy for shot people LOL."

OMG!!! "Shot" in more ways than one. By the time we got out of that dealership I felt frazzled, worn out, hungry and SHOT. We went up there around 11 thinking we'd just drive one and cruise next door to drive a merc and then down one more door and drive a bmw, come home, compare notes and make a decision next week. Instead we spent so much time going from volvo to volvo, driving two of them and then thinking, talking, etc., we ended up going to Wendy's and picking up lunch for ourselves AND the salesman! Finally we drove out and didn't get home until almost 5 pm. As I told you on the phone last evening (of course you HAD to be the first call I made), it felt like I found my wedding gown and it fit. I believe we'll have a long and lasting marriage.

Congrats, on finding your car.

it felt like I found my wedding gown and it fit.
that's just something I never would have even considered the significance of.

Pouring rain today (we need it so badly I cannot complain), so I snagged a web photo. My wheels are a little different (17" alloy with double spokes), but you can at least get a good idea of what it looks like. I have dark gray leather seats.
