Firefox 4
Wednesday, when I opened it up, it was all different.
I'm starting to get used to it now, though.
Have 3.6.16 on the home pc and 4 on the laptop.....
Got to figure out how to move the address bar up and tabs down in 4......
Driving me crazy! (not that I had far to go!)
Well... golly gee..... just got it... dang checkbox to keep tabs on top... how stupid!
Glad I read this thread..., it got me thinking!

I use Opera. Firefox tends to adopt the changes that Opera makes about six months to a year after Opera makes them.
Seriously. All the "awesome" new interface items that Mozilla is pushing with Firefox 4 were already out in Opera. The one button up at the top that replaces the menu bar. The tabs being up above the navigation bar (that is to say, each tab having its own navigation bar instead of all of them sharing it). It so much a clone that it's kind of amusing, really.
Pinning tabs, grouping tabs, private browsing tabs, you name it and Firefox borrowed it from Opera. For that matter, Opera was using tabs two years before Firefox.
Too bad Firefox still doesn't seem to have some of the other cool stuff in Opera. When I slide my cursor over a tab, a little picture of the page inside that tab shows up. When I close a tab, I can reopen it again by clicking on a little trashcan icon. And I've gotten really used to "quick dial," which is sort of a graphic bookmarks list. (Safari's "show top sites" is a bit like quick dial.)
One of the latest changes Opera made is that they no longer display the whole URL. Instead, it only shows the most relevant parts of it, unless you click on the bar. That's another one I thought was silly until I started using it a bit, and now I really miss it when I use other browsers.

Been using it since the first alpha. I'm too close to the software to see many (if any) changes. I made all my changes in the first alpha and they've stayed the same since. Guess I'm going to have to explore to find out what might be different from 3.xx.
