Default first week in 2006

So we start with New Years Eve. Michele walks into the room and says I'm going to the hospital my kidney stones are moving. She gets her dose of pain meds and fluids then comes home 4 hours later.

Jan. 4th , on my lunch I am sitting at a traffic light when bamm a 79 year old gentleman plows into the rear of my car slamming my into a pick up truck in front of me. The both ends of my car are damaged and the engine block is cracked. I am ok but my car surly will be a total.

After waiting for a rental car I get home to find out Michele got her blood test results back. It shows her liver numbers are very high and she has to have a Liver biopsey the next day to see what is wrong.

Ok friday the 5th up at 5am Michele, Christian and I go to the U. of Penn. for her biopsey. We drop her off and I bring him to daycare about 1 hour away I go to work and we coordinate my inlaws to pick her up.

I get home from work after picking up my son at about 5pm. Michele had arrived home at 3pm, sore and nasious from the pain meds and biopsey. They tell us when they find out what is wrong they will call us. At 6:30 pm they call, Michele is rejecting her liver and we need to get back to the hospital asap. We call our friend to come over to watch our son while I take her to the hospital for treatment.

Today is sunday Michele has been in the hospital since friday eve but is doing fine her liver function is improving after treatment and she will be home around lunch with some adjustments to her meds.

So that was my first week in January.... not bad huh, at least we are all doing good now.
Here are some pics of my company car , I only have pics of the fron b/c it is backed up into our warehouse till the adjuster comes. I am shopping a Mazda 5 for a replacement.

Right...the car can be replaced. Michele's liver is a greater concern. So glad the meds seem to be working. Keep us posted!

Thanks, liver rejection post transplant is not as scary as it sounds. As a matter fact we were pleased that was the test results. It could have been far worse news, cancer, tumors, her disease PSC returning, so you see why the somewhat elation. The anti- rejection meds today are spectacular compared to even 5 years ago, 99%of the time 3 treatments over three days sets your body back to accepting your new organ. Michele is feeling fine just her blood work was abnormal. She was on the same floor where she was after her transplant and spent a month. It was like a renuion for her and the nurses. We keep in touch with them with cards and pictures of her progress as well as pics of our son, I even brought him over there for a bit yesterday.

Charlie, so glad Michelle is feeling better. Now that you've got the week from hell out of your system the rest of 2006 should be a breeze.

Sure puts in perspective my own pitty party for my root canal last Thursday for an abscess and mandible crack .

(I'm still looking for my first 2006 pain free day though.)

I'm so glad the docs got the anti-rejection drugs balanced.

Charlie,

I echo the thoughts that have already been expressed. Happy to learn that Michelle is doing better.

How about the seventy-nine year old? Is he OK?

I hope that the rest of year, is a breeze for you and yours.
