Flu shot
Got my flu shot today. How about you?
I've never had the flu, but since I have mild asthma, I don't want to take a chance of getting the flu and ending up really sick.
I remember I had a poll last year about the H1N1 shot. Many were reluctant to get the vaccine, once it was more available.
I also remember our dear departed RC Ryder urging people to protect themselves against the illness.
He was often the voice of reason here...I thought of him today when I headed out to get the shot. Still
over his passing.
So will you get a flu shot?

I'm getting mine tomorrow. I've had full blown flu a couple of times and would like to avoid it again. Even at our ages and lifetime exposures our immune systems can't compensate nearly as fast as these viruses can.
We take care of a 99 year old (adopted grandmother) and she got her flu shot last week. So far, all seems to be OK with her. She celebrated her 99 on 10/14. Born in 1911 and doing quite well for herself. +1 is with her today to see about her.

No shot for me. I've never had the flu, so I don't see the need. I've certainly been exposed various flu viruses over the years with no effect.
Feel free to point and laugh if I should die from the flu at some point. It won't hurt my feelings any.

Er...ah...what about you and Cece?
I just had my GallBladder removed (Laposcoptic) sp. on 10/15 and have not had the flu shot. Cece has not mentioned if she will or not.

Yes, I got mine at work almost 3 weeks ago on October 7, so I should be protected already.
goblues2k got one at his work today.
I don't think that either one of us has ever had the flu, but we just think it is a good idea for us to get the shot for various reasons, especially since we are getting "old."
(Well, actually come to think of it, goblues2k might have had the flu once way back in 1968 when we were first married, but I think that is the only time he might have had it in the 42 years that we have been married. Marriage must be good protection against the flu.
)
Last year, we both got the H1N1 vaccine, too.
This year's flu vaccine includes the H1N1 as one of the strains, so we should be "doubly" protected against that, too.
