Default FREE....is that too expensive?

In the past year, I seem to have become an expert at finding a home for odds n ends of S2000 stuff...mostly GIVEN to me and mostly offered for FREE. This does take some TIME, so am I being a sucker for doing this? I don't look at it that way....feeling glad to help out someone with bits and pieces.

HERE is the thread where I found a home in spring 2014 for the tonneau cover from my MY '00 Silverstone AP1; I offered it first for free with local pickup on the Del Val Forum, but got ZERO response.

Earlier in the year I found a "free" home for some RED interior trim parts (radio cover and adjacent side panels) and another separate "free" trim item....can't remember what it was. In both cases, I just asked for advance payment of cheapest shipping cost.

Strangely enough, another friend who replaced his S with a M-B SLxxxx a couple years ago AGAIN gave me his tonneau cover....found when cleaning out his garage. THIS time I did find a local S owner who was interested. He's going to come to the MWG at Zippy's house and pick it up.

The only item that I've SOLD in recent memory is an early AP1 leather "console cover" from Rick's that one of the same friends GAVE to me....just to get rid of it; msrp was at least $125. I offered this for sale for the first $60 offer + shipping; sold it in a few days after a posting on s2ki. My friend was surprised when I gave him half of the net proceeds

Not looking for atta boys....just curious.

MY QUESTION: Do you bother to find a "home" for extra S2000 bits and pieces....whether trim items, extra accessories from Rick's, or even expensive stuff like aftermarket wheels, exhaust systems, etc. Do you give away for free or sell these things? OR DO YOU just pile up the stuff in basement or garage "in case you need it" ???

I have kept all of my OEM parts. Who knows, someday I may want to go back to the way it came off of the showroom floor.

The only OE item I got rid of were the 16"wheels/tires as I didn't want to store them after moving up to 17". I gave them to a another owner, all he did was reimberse me for the 300 mile round trip to deliver them, plus a tip! Felt good to help a fellow owner out.

The only OEM parts that I did not keep were the brake lines and consumables.

Gave my two amber side markers to a couple guys on S2KCA. I had replaced mine with clear. Since I had w!ngman clear my corners, I still have the amber lenses that I'd be glad to give away.
I also gave away another part (that I can't remember) to another guy on S2KCA.
Sold my OEM 16" wheels & tires to a DelVal guy, since I had replaced them with 17" Superleggera wheels.

Sold my after-market CF engine garnish on the NSX to a guy in Baltimore. I much preferred the stock.
Have lots of OEM NSX parts that I will probably hold on to that I will throw in, when, and if, I ever decide to sell it.

...but I had done so few mods that this is not an issue to me.

I forgot that, like Gene, I also have the orange side markers; plus the S 2 0 0 0 script from each side and the front/rear "H" badges (all of the preceding not replaced when I had bodywork done due to my spin-out in '05) Like many of us, I also have the OE shift knob....since I replaced with one by that Aussie guy. Whassis name?
