Gamin Map issue
Since we got our Garmin, it has never been able to get us home.
It tells us to turn onto a street that does not provide access our house.
Until recently, everyone coming to our home had the same issue.
This weekend, we had several Nor'Easter participants at our home on Sunday afternoon. Many of them had GPS units, some Garmin, some TomTom. I let all of them know the correct street to take to access our home. Some of them were instructed to turn on the incorrect street, some of them were instructed to turn on the correct street!
I did update our maps this year and called Garmin to inquire about this. The tech support guy entered in our address and saw the issue. The maps show a park with a road running through it. There is a park, but no access road. He said he'd send a message to the map making folks, but it would be too late for the 2009 maps. I think one of the Garmin users was using the same version maps that we were, but got the correct directions.
While I was on the phone waiting for tech services, (almost 15 minutes) I went to their web site and sent them an email.
I got a reply today that informed me that there is a map update for my unit, and they will send it to me free of charge.
If the map is correct, I will now be able to find my way home.
If not, Garmin still gets a
