Default Gas prices plummeting

Gas was selling for $1.97 yesterday in Houston, and is lower generally around the country. That's great for Titan drivers. Am I just looking for a conspiracy, or is it just a cooincidence that this is happening a few short weeks before the elections?

I have no idea about gas prices but I'm pretty sure this thread is destined for a move by the end of the day.

There's plenty of crude on the market right now. Driving season is over,
but heating oil season is coming in now. I belive this will be short lived, or until the wack job in Iran says he wants to kill somebody. Then the futures guys will get nervous again.

Depends on how folks reply, Jim..........it all depends.

Actually I don't think it (the lower price) is political. I think the greedy oil people gouged us for the summer and will give us a break until the spring. I don't believe any of the reasons they threw out there as to why the prices went so high to begin with.

Demand HAD to be less. I know in our house, we cut way back on non essential driving. I'm sure many other households did the same.

Now would be a good time to fill your oil tank if you heat with an oil furnace.

Good morning, FB!! I'm still waiting for the plummet of gas prices here. So far its hit $2.25 for regular, but that's it. Premium is still at $2.45 and up.

I just heard a report on the radio that many people and companies in the North and Northeast are trying to renegotiate the commitments that they made three months ago for next winter. They didn't anticipate that prices would come down, and they felt that by buying in advance they could save money. This time it went the other way (at least for now).

I'd bet that this drop in gas prices is only temporary. Enjoy it while it's here.
