From my own personal experience, if you want to save fuel... SLOW DOWN!!!!

Also look to take as much unneeded stuff out of your car. The weight adds up and decreases your mileage.

Tire pressure is also a big factor.

I decided to save gas while driving the S in the summer that I would stop using the air conditioner when I'm driving with the top down. It is quite a sacrifice, but I'm trying to do my part to economize.
That is far too drastic for me. That is like staying out of VTEC

Its 80 degrees here today, so if the S goes out, the top will be down and I'll "worry" about saving gas by turning off the AC some other day.

... and it became a discussion on radar detectors. I'm not sure people were really focused on saving gas there.

People in New England are never focused on anything for long. That's why we have so much fun. [/QUOTE]

For the sake of discussion, lets say regular is $3.70 and premium is $4.04. That's a difference of $.34 or 9% and it seems like a lot. Now lets say you drive 12,000 miles annually and get an average of 25 miles per gallon. This works out to 480 gallons of gas annually. 480 gallons at the additional $.34 per means you are only spending an additional $163.00. Not a big deal when you really look at it.
Uhhh Dave, Can I have $163.00?

I was going to mention this bit of herasy as well.

You can get 10-20% improvement in mileage driving 70 instead of 85. Not much help on in-town driving but for those long trips...

Of course then you have to decide if the extra 12 or 13 minutes per hour of driving time are worth the $ you save in improved mileage. But I believe that each of us only a certain number of hours of life on earth. When your time's up, its up. However, like golf, time spent behind the wheel of an S2000 does not count against your total.

be VERY careful when installing these gas saving devices.
for example your already getting a 60% improvement with the tornado.
if you get another 45% with other devices you'll soon have 105% saving meaning an extra 5% gas.
pretty soon your tank will be overflowing with the %5 excess gas.
this can cause a severe fire hazard, so be careful....

Wow...thanks for the advice. I never thought about that. What if I syphon off some of the gas each evening to run my lawn mower, weed wacker, chain saw, and gas powered torque wrench? Do you think that would be enough to take care of the excess?
