When hurrican Hugo went through South Carolina, we were without electric and water for 20 days. I got really good at cooking on a 2 burner camp stove and gas grill, and using ice coolers. Hope the power wil be on soon.

Wow
I got nothing more to say, wow

Oh, and glad you and your family are ok

We're definitely better off than some folks around here.
I know the feeling. I was without power at my place for almost two weeks after one of the four hurricanes that blew through my neighborhood in 2004. I was on a well, so no water either.

I saw the aftermath on the national news last night. What a disaster. And I'm surprised more people didn't get killed.

The tornado that struck Ringgold was an EF4 with near 200 mph winds. It was about 800 yards wide at the base and stayed on the ground for 15 miles, all the way to Apison TN.

The death toll in the area has been revised to over 40 and a lot of people are still missing. A bank deposit slip and a couple of medical files from Scottsboro AL turned up in Chattanooga.

We are restored! The power came back on about 11 here last night while we were staying at the EconoLodge. A big to the guys and gals at EPB - they've been working around the clock to get power to folks.

Dean - the EconoLodge ain't half bad. It's no Hilton but it's quiet and clean. They have wifi and there's a Sonic, Huddle House, and Mexican place (with authentic Mexicans) within walking distance.

Wow, a Huddle House? I haven't been in a good knife fight in years.
