I wish I could. Staying home with a book, chicken soup and some S2KI sounds pretty good.

But I've only a couple of vacation days left. Not going to waste them staying at home being sick.

I got the germs at the office, I'm bringing them right back there.

Don't you have "Sick Leave",in the U.S.???

In my neck of the woods, everybody, gets at least 10 sick days, paid,a year.!!!

For me, my vacation time/time off/personal time/sick time is all in one. I know some other places are doing that as well. I never had any defined sick time in the past, but it wasn't an issue. Generally, I would miss less than one day per year due to not feeling well. At this point, I hate to use even one day because I don't feel well. Time off is too precious. If I run out of time, and I get sick, I'll just have to adjust my pay.

I get more time off than some I work with. Most of the guys in my place get two weeks off/year, with no promise of more after X number of years. That's it. No sick time, no personal time, nothing else except about 1/2 the holidays that a state/federal employee may get

In my next life, I would not work for a small business.

You should write your memoirs, Dean. It'd bet it would be interesting reading, though not recommended at the high school level. Don't want to give these kids any ideas.

I think one of the prerequisites for writing one's memoirs is having memories of what transpired. I don't.
