It seems every time I try to respond to a post in the little window at the bottom of a thread, the stupid site eats it before it posts. It's frustrating to keep typing and then have your words disappear in a "can't access the site" window. It certainly not much incentive to try to participate and it sucks!

Happened to me about 5 times in the past 2 days. Now I copy the entire post to the clipboard before hitting 'Add Reply'. It's saved me retying 3 of those times..

Must be all the bandwidth consumed by everyone posting and viewing Fall Colors photos.

Ha ha. It just happened to me while I was responding to your post. But asking me why is like asking a priest why it takes evolution so long to produce a new species. I just highlight my long posts and click copy before I click "add reply" in case I get the ugly "access" window.

Not unless it's Jim cuz Dean is being especially nice right now -- remember he's shopping for big car toys.

I've noticed that loading a reply is really slow, but I too highlight/copy my posts in case the mysterious post eater appears when I least expect it. I've also noticed that often when I log in it takes FOREVER for the site to load. I get amused whenever I see that message:

Click here if you do not wish to wait
Who DOES want to wait? I also learned the HARD WAY that it does NOT speed anything up if you "click here". It just gives you something to do while you wait.

Apparently there's some kind of glitch in the server software. The problem seems to be worse for us Safari users. Cthree said he was going to try to correct the problem this weekend.
Maybe he'll see fit to answer my PM while he's at it, but I'm not holding my breath.
