Default Glasses??

I need to have a set of 'spare' glasses made. They need to be bifocal and was wondering should I be looking for 'no line' bifocals or something else?

These are for only when I can't wear my contacts so they won't get much use.

^David, I have been using progressive lens glasses for over 15 years, and I have been very happy with them. I have never worn real bifocals, but I can't imagine how they would feel.
The technology the lens-makers use these days is phenomenal.

I only will buy progressive or single vision focus glasses. I always buy mine at Costco.

progressive is all I've ever worn as well except for the $10 cheater glasses...... and do check them out ..... I have a few pairs and sometimes I'm sure they work even better.

+1 for progressive lenses. However, I read an article recently that explained how progressive lenses can be associated to an increased fall risk. I myself find that I have to pay special attention on stairways, escalators and sidewalk curbs, etc to be sure I see them correctly.

Same here. Progressive lens. I buy mine at B.Js. They use the same labs as the optometrist use. Much less expensive. I have all options on my everyday glasses and lens only on my back up.

I have the "old style" bifocals. I was never able to adjust to progressives. If you are using them only when not using your contacts, the "linees" are way less pricey.

I can attest that you I cannot golf with progressive lenses.
It just doesn't work.

Ona side note, I got frustrated with my cheap reading glasses always breaking so I got a set of "real" glasses.
It's nice to have a frame that fits, with clear lenses and the frames aren't hanging to together by a spider's thread.
