Is this going too far....
I don't know, it's the kind of thing that I look at and marvel at at shows while wondering why anyone in their right mind would do that to a car.
Not my thing for sure, hell, I think Sebring Silver is a flashy color, but I admire the quality of the work and envy the the person who has the skill and talent to do it.

I love that paint job
It's a work of art, and I think it mostly compliments the car. I agree with the others that the Silverstone front half doesn't fit, but off the top of my head I don't know quite what would work. I definitely do NOT like the rear wing. I've never liked that or similar styles of wing. It's way too over the top, and doesn't compliment the car at all.
My feeling is that this sort of thing is much like hot rods and custom cars, an artistic expression of a person's view of their car. There are many forms of hot rods and custom cars, some mild, some wild, some well done and some not so well done. This is nothing more than a 21st Century adaptation of what has been going on since hot rods and custom cars got going strong back on the 40s-50s.
There are many rods & customs that I love the look of, and others that I don't. That doesn't mean I'd want MY car to look that way, but I can appreciate the talent, expertise and effort that went into the creation of the art. In the case of the S posted here, as I said I love the way it looks, but I absolutely would never want my car to look that way.
Jest mah humble 'pinion, ya unnerstan'

Personally, I think silver is about the most boring color one can pick for a car, so what would be even more boring?
No offense to your color choice, I understand it's a very popular color, and insulting you is not the intent of my post...I'm just really curious as to what is less flashy than silver.
