I just played the most beautiful and challenging course I have every played. It was the Makena Resort South Course in beautiful Maui. Ocean view from virtually every hole, two of them are at the shoreline. The OOB was just that with jungle and lava. I lost 6 balls on the front nine alone. It was just over 7000 yds from the tournament tees and bunkers cradled the very fast greens extensively. I thought I would share some pictures with you.

Note the little red bird in this example of the OOB. The Snowy Egrets were in flocks chasing the lawnmowers, quite a sight to behold and I failed to get a picture of them.

Golf is that game that takes up space that could be used for race tracks, right?

After playing at that same course in 2001, it made me stop wishing about Pebble Beach... =) Makena is indeed beautiful and one of my personal fav. Great pictures!

I don't play but my husband does and will be playing on Kauii in June when he and my son go there. Today was my first time to see a golf course from the cart, and not just from the road as a drive by. It was the Lake Elizabeth Golf Course near Palmdale in Southern California.

Nice outing. Did you also play on Kuai? The Poipui Beach club course looks great from the TV shots.. Hoping to tee it up before May 1st.
