Default Got cassettes? Time is running out.

Cassette-tape players are nearly extinct. The 2011 Ford Crown Victoria is the only vehicle in the U.S. that still offers one. It’s available as part of the “Dual Media Premium Electronic” options package. The venerable tape player will vanish from the market in the third quarter of this year when the last Vicky rolls off the line.

I think some of our older in house stereo "stuff" still plays cassettes, not that they get used.

Thanks for the warning, Dave.

Guess I don't have to worry. Bea's 2006 Murano has a Bose system with a cassette deck, and my 2005 NSX also has a Bose system with a cassette deck. Since we tend to keep our cars forever, we should be in great shape!

What's next? No more turntables?

Denon still has one competitively priced:

Geez ... and it plays only one side of one record at a time. What a ripoff! HPH

I've still got a decent JVC turntable - if I could just remember who I loaned it to - last.

My brother's the safekeeper of my vinyl for now. Hell he'll probably be my executor if he lives that long.

Meh. Cheap, off-the-shelf crap.

SOTA's Millennia at only $9500:
