Greetings from the Vision of the Seas.
Enjoy your trip. Is this the first cruise you have taken?
We've never done the cruise thing. In the past we preferred to get to an island, stay put and totally relax, but you never know...............

Lainey,My oldest brother (ten years older than me) and his wife are cruise addicts. They have taken two or more cruises a year for the past two decades or so.
We took our first cruise in 2003 from NY to Bermuda when my brothers and I took my mother on a cruise for her birthday. Her Grand Children also came along and we had a wonderful time.
The nice thing is that you can do what ever you want on a cruise ship and wake up everymorning in a different port. If you don't want to get off the ship you don't have too.
On the other hand, one has limited time to spend at each Port of Call. But, if you like some place (like Saint Lucia for example) you know where to go back too.
The bottom line is that a cruise is hard to beat $ for $ for about two hundred dollars per day. When one compares that to airfare, hotels and food. The food on a cruise is unlimited (in most cases). One does have to pay the bar tab. But the good news (in our limited experience so far after two cruises) is that even though they have a captive customer base, drinks are still reasonably priced compared to most Metropolitan areas (about $3.00 for a premium beer and about $4.50 for scotch on the rocks for example) On my trip to San Diego in January I found it outrageous that a Rusty Nail at the Manchester Hyatt was $12.00
