Are those with 100,XXX miles still on stock shocks?
Yes. Thank goodness that they still do not make shock absorbers like they used to as well. I remember when back in the day, stock shocks were good for maybe 20K miles.

There is little doubt in my mind that new shocks would be an improvement but the stock one's still seem to pass the "bounce test".

222,000+ miles presently on The Bruised Banana... I've replaced a few things over the years...but none as a result of poor engineering and/or mechanical failures on the part of Honda. And none that have made me this car any less...

Pic from ~ a week ago...

Dave,

As far as I know you are the high mileage KING. I am curious if anyone has more miles on the original top and bottom end?

^Congratulations Matt! I would ask Honda for some financial support on that burned out bulb.
I had to buy a two pack of bulbs and split the cost between the two bulbs as I still have the other for when the trunk bulb burns out. It uses the same 1168 bulb. Although, I planed on replacing the trunk light with an LED when the time comes.

Other than having to replace the soft top twice I really can't complain. It's been a blast and I'd do it all over again.

Even after all this time it's still a rush every time I drive the car - especially top down.

I'm right around 51K - I guess I should get out more.

At 34k miles and 7 years of autocross abuse, the only part I have replaced was an aftermarket swaybar bracket that broke. Can't fault Honda for that.

I love seeing all these high mile S2Ks. My 05 is sitting at 30k after I picked her up at 18k in 09. I am looking forward to a very long, loving, and inexpensive relationship with her.

Dave, who belongs to the x1/9 in the pic?

Friend of mine picked one up cheap a couple years ago. It wouldn't go. Turned out it just needed a clutch slave cylinder (I think it was...are they hydraulic clutches?) or something. Later I helped him pull the engine for a rebuild. Fun little doorstops, for sure.
