I used my remote start on my vehicle this morning, my apologies.

I have to charge my electric vehicle after 7 pm so I can't stop using hydro I hope others can compensate for me.

I was surprised to see the amount of electricy consumed in Canada is about 60% from 'hydro,' thus why all the Canucks call it "hydro." https://relayeducation.com/blog/elec...s%20of%20power.

Oh yes , very true. Yeah many of our local electric utilities start with the word hydro in their name. Niagara Falls is a big producer of electricity in our parts, and I think Quebec as a province is almost 100% generated from water, which is huge.

I have alway thought that recycling of plastic doesn't make sense. Use glass bottles where possible.

Yeah a super high amount of our recycling ends up in the regular dump , there are so many stipulations about what can and can't be recycled, much of it just goes to the dump. I think it makes people feel good knowing they are recycling, yet they can't see where it ends up.

In our new home we started using green bins for recycling food waste and yard waste as our region has that as part of their operations. I do have to say that our refuse amount is much lower since we started separating food and yard waste into green bin recycling, our normal refuse bag amount is down by 50-75% once we separate the green bin materials (organic waste).

I love drinking out of glass bottles whenever possible, I don't like beer or other drinks in aluminum cans or plastic bottles, glass is best !

We have to separate food garbage from our regular garbage now. A lot of recent transplants here have decided that it would be ‘genius’ to have a food compost pile in their yard. Now suddenly a lot more people are freaking out because they have bears in their yard
I take my garbage to the town dump. We have to buy bags from the town (state mandated) for regular trash and there is a bin for cardboard and another for cans and paper and another for electronics and they have a compost container where I put my food scraps.
