As for Easter dinner. I got up early to put my roast in the crock pot so it would be ready by dinner time. I seared it on all sides, made a gravy for it to simmer in, dropped it in the crock pot and went upstars to catch a few more zzzzzs before finally getting up. Four hours later, I notice there's no smell coming from the kitchen. I go downstairs only to find that I forgot to plug the crock pot in.
Guess who had Chinese for Easter dinner?

You're not alone Angela. We put a brisket in the new electric smoker (that's another story to be told -- first went to WalMart to buy one and the clerk said she'd like to kill me for opening the boxes to try to find one the lid actually fit even though I re-packed them all perfectly in their smashed boxes. After a discussion with her and the manager, I'm hoping she enjoyed an unemployed Easter at her refrigerator box home under a bridge!) and after 4 hours it was only showing "warm" so we ended up with a yummy dinner at Golden Corral with all the other old people/gummers. Tonight we'll have the smoked brisket.
Nice pictures, everybody!
We just got back from a weekend in Austin -- where it was cold and snowy for Easter. I had a couple of inches of snow on the S yesterday morning. That's unusual for Texas in April! It's cool and cloudy today in Houston.
